Not much noise. Have owned this now for about 2.5 years and love it.The only issue is (as other reviewers have already alluded to) that if you need to floor/shelf mount it, you will need to at a very low height from the ground. Another issue with this product is that when you remove the shutter over the lens, your focus needs to be adjusted all over again. Have placed mine at about 6-10 inches from the ground. Anyone sitting near the projector is going to feel some heat. Pretty simple to do so, but dont see why Mitsubishi didnt think of this.As regards quality of image - its great, the blacks could have been darker, but am very happy with it. Brightness is quite good, and degradation precluding viewing occurs only with a lot of ambient light.
How do BluRay DVDs look on this Projector.I have this Projector and Lost the Users Manuel.I've been trying to find it online, But, no luck so far.Any help would be Appreciated.Thanks Again Vic
Some of my friends keep asking me "when are you going to show that movie.". My first Home Theater projector was an InFocus IN72, which I loved, but was only 480p. Some of them were more than happy to watch the image produced by my old projector, and simply LOVE the image produced by the Mitsu.Everything else has already been said. So I sold it and in August 2008 I bought the Mitsubishi HC1500, which is 720p (native resolution of 1280x720). What can I say. Just enjoy it.8 months have passed and I have yet to find another affordable unit that is this good. At $792 including taxes and shipping to Brooklyn, this was a unique opportunity.
I mean, sports and movies are just incredible on this thing. This sounds like an even more minor issue than daytime brightness in Fort Lauderdale, but hear me out:When you watch this projector, it might be late at night, and you might have the lights out. This review will not get into too much technical stuff, other than to say that for this level of features, this projector is an excellent value (re: price, today I see $899 here on Amazon, but I got it from another vendor 6 months ago for $799). It must be noted that the room the projector is in has a large window against one wall, and I live in sunny South Florida. For me, this contributed to my first bulb only lasting 6 months - but I did use the projector a lot.So in closing, Mitsubishi, please add a "sleep" function and crank up the juice like 8% on that bulb. So you can't go wrong with this item. This is a minor quibble, but should be noted.2) There is no "sleep" feature.
Problem is, you don't always stay awake for the whole thing. It's a top brand, 720p, HD DLP projector with capability for over a 10' screen. The experience becomes all the more cinematic. I've been thrilled with it so far.I only have two complaints:1) The brightness leaves a bit to be desired during the day. I'm sure this is an issue peculiar to my situation. And when that happens, and you wake up at 8am on your couch with the projector on, you've taken some life off of a $300 bulb. Only then will you get the elusive 5 star rating from me.
Had this unit for less than 6 months, and have been very happy with the picture. If you read the warranty, however, it will only cover the lamp for 90 days (or 300hrs) whichever come first. The lamp, however, has gone out - after less than 400hrs of viewing (on low power) - and less than 6 months of total ownership. The projector is sold as having a 1yr warrant, and the lamp is supposed to last 3000hrs in low power, and 2000hrs in high power. So. looks like I'll have to spend over $300 to get a projector running that I spent 1100 on less than 6 months ago.
